Terms for Service
Items must fit with in 14ft x 10ft x 8ft with a maximum weight of 360lbs/163kg. Vehicle chassis can be done up to 16ft in lenght.
Drop off service lead times vary through out the year and is typically between 2-4 weeks from drop off date. We offer either 3 day booked appointments or drop off service. A “booked in” service requires a non-refundable deposit and colour choice at the time of booking, to secure the date. Deposits are by cash or etransfer only.
Before Dropping off your parts
All parts need to be off the vehicle and disassembled. Tires, bushings, bearings, bearing races, rubber and plastics also need to be removed. These can cause issues or be damaged during sand blasting or during while curing the coating. Any special instructions for the preparation (i.e. special clearance areas, special taping instructions) need to be provided in written form before or when dropping off items. Items must be reasonably clean and free of grease or additional cleaning charge may be applied or part refused. We do not touch parts with peeling chrome.
Disclaimer
Sand blasting times is an estimate, and that additional time may be required to properly prepare items. You authorize Dave’s Powder Coating to use their judgement in preparing your items for powder coating. Due to the porous nature of metals, you understand that bubbles may appear in the finish. You understand that Dave’s Powder Coating will take all appropriate steps to avoid this from happening, but you will not hold them accountable if it occurs. If you wish to have the bubbled part redone, you understand it will be an additional charge with the same rates and that there are no guarantees it will come out better than the first time. All rubber and plastics need to be removed before dropping off your items. Plastic center caps are not included with wheel estimates unless requested. There is a risk that they may distort or melt and there is no warranty on them. Should you bring your items prepped or decide to not have your items sand blasted by us, there is no warranty of any kind on the coating.
Estimated Lead Time
Lead time is an estimated timeline and can change after you drop off your parts. Some colours are more complicated than others, equipment can fail, or other situations can occur lengthening the time it takes to complete your project to our quality level. There will be no discounts on increased lead times.
Completion and Storage policy
Once your item(s) have been completed you will receive a phone call and/or email letting you know your parts are ready for pick up. From this point you have 7 days to pick up your item(s). On day 8, a per week charge of $50 plus taxes will be added to your bill for storing your parts. After 60 days from completion your item(s) will be sold to cover your bill. You will be responsible for any remaining balance not covered by the sale of your item(s).
Colour Selection and Pricing
Any powder coat colour from any supplier is available for you to choose, however may be subject to additional cost for the material to cover a supplier minimum order size and shipping. Choosing a colour from our regular suppliers list is suggested for consistent lead time and the best available pricing:

As a note, any customer supplied or requested material must be supplied with the appropriate cure schedule and instructions to maintain the manufactures’ quality. Improperly supplied notes from you the client will void any warranty provided by Dave’s Powder Coating. We have stock of a wide range of colours in varying amounts. Our normally stocked colours include:

Minimum and additional charges
- Sand blasting: 30 minute minimum charge @ $200/h plus tax
- Powder coating has a per colour minimum charge of $150 plus tax
- Additional in-house work is charged at the shop rate of $150/h plus tax
- This includes cleaning and disassembly
- Parts should arrive clean enough that a single fast wipe with acetone or brake clean is all that is required
- We Prefer items to arrive fully disassembled but can remove nuts, bolts, fittings and caliper pistons
- While we can disassemble parts we are not responsible for bolts or fittings that round off, break or are seized in place
- This includes cleaning and disassembly
- Outsourced work is charged at cost plus 10%
- Items left for longer than 7 days after completion are subject to a $125 admin charge and 7% interest per week
Payment
All items must be paid for either before or at time of pick up. Dave’s Powder Coating accepts cash, e-transfer, credit cards and debit card only. If an e-transfer is your method of payment please send it to dave@davescoating.com before you come to pick up your parts. Invoices will be charged storage after 7 days at a rate of $125 admin charge and 7% interest per week. After 60 days from completion, items become property of Dave’s Powder Coating to be sold off to cover the balance.
Warranty
Other than plastic center caps and items that arrive prepped, all items come with a 1 year limited warranty that guarantees the coating will not crack or flake off on its own. This does not cover damage from impacts, abuse, transportation, installation, or discolouration from chemicals. Should a valid warranty claim occur Dave’s Powder Coating will redo the item, at their facility, at no cost. We will not be liable for any additional costs in the removal, re-installation, or shipping of the items.
Pricing Adjustments
Currencies and material costs constantly change and may require pricing to be adjusted. Written estimates are honored for 14 days provided the item(s) match the description given. The condition and complexity of your part may take more time than what is typical, increasing the cost. Cost to repair hidden damage is not included in the estimate.
Storage
Items that are left without clear direction or completed for more 7 days, are subject to storage charges. This includes a $125 monthly admin fee and 7% of the total amount.
